Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical IT Bid Writer to lead and manage the end-to-end bid process for complex IT solutions. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional writing skills, and extensive experience in IT bid and proposal management, ensuring high-quality, winning proposals in response to client tenders. You must have proven experience presenting bids from large IT consultancies into the public sector
Key Responsibilities
Bid Writing & Content Development
* Write, edit, and proofread high-quality responses for RFPs, RFIs, and ITT documents.
* Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, and concise content.
* Maintain and update bid libraries with reusable content and case studies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
* Liaise with sales, technical architects, delivery teams, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
* Conduct workshops, interviews, and reviews to gather critical input from SMEs.
Governance & Compliance
* Ensure all bids comply with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal governance processes.
* Identify risks and mitigations within the bid process.
* Analyse previous bids to improve future submissions.
* Implement best practices in bid writing and bid management processes.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical & Industry Knowledge
* Proven experience in bid writing/management for IT solutions, including cloud services, cybersecurity, networking, and software development.
* Understanding of IT frameworks, methodologies, and standards such as ITIL, TOGAF, Agile, and ISO27001.
Bid & Proposal Management
* Strong experience managing large-scale, high-value bids for government sector clients.
* Proficiency with bid management tools and proposal automation software.
Communication & Writing Skills
* Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive, structured, and concise responses.
* Strong presentation skills and experience in bid pitch preparations.
Project & Time Management
* Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
* Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) certification is a plus.
* IT certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, ITIL) are advantageous.
This role at Amber Labs is a 6 month contract position, and all employees are required to meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Please be advised that, at this time, we are unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship or hold a visa of any type.
