This role is a hybrid role combining both time in our newly refurbished Ipswich office as well as remotely under our Smart Working initiative.
The primary purpose of the Underwriting Assistant role is to perform tasks supporting the existing Underwriting book of business, whilst developing the necessary skillset to liaise with key internal stakeholders.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
The role includes pre and post-bind processes within the Energy Underwriting business support unit, providing accurate and efficient processing of accounts, with quality service levels, ensuring the end-to-end process is fully compliant in accordance with AXA XL guidelines.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Working with Middle Office London Team to develop your knowledge of the class of business and the accounts written by:
1. Performing “Account Health Check” on renewal accounts
2. Performing Compliance and Sustainability checks on new and renewal business
3. Indexing (digital filing of documents against correct records)
4. Data entry and corrections. Calculation sheets
5. Premium reconciliations and amendments
6. Account and portfolio management and reporting tasks

1. Minimum A-level standard of education or equivalent business experience
2. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and maths skills
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
4. Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
5. Proactive organisational skills and ability to plan and prioritise work, using their own initiative and keeping one step ahead
6. Beneficial: experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and system data entry experience and processes
