Job description
This college based in Surrey is looking for Learning Support Assistants to provide academic support to pupils aged 14-19.
It is vital that the candidates have knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and experience working with students declaring SEN. Candidates will be planning and coordinating support for our students, as well as ensuring that all processes relating to young people with EHC plans are completed. Previous experience as a SENCO, assistant SENCO, SEN Support Coordinator, Learning Support Coordinator is desirable.
In order to apply for this role, you must have:
Candidates should have experience of managing a team of support staff and cover timetables, with excellent IT skills, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel. Strong communication skills, organisation and time management, are key to carrying out this role effectively. We are looking to start suitable candidates asap.
Experience in learning support, mentoring or support work with young people with learning difficulties (i.e. autism, ADHD etc)
Must Haves
1. Right to Work in the UK
2. Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
3. Be available for full time hours
4. Looking for long term placement
Candidates will require full vetting in place, a DBS dated within the last year or registered on the update service.
