Based within the Council’s Occupational Safety & Wellbeing Team, you will be involved in undertaking health and safety audits, inspections, risk assessments including fire risk assessment and investigating accidents. A key part of the role will involve providing health and safety assistance and advice to managers within the Council as well as undertaking work to promote a positive safety and wellbeing culture. You will be required to ensure safety and wellbeing polices and associated documentation is kept up to date and will be involved in progressing the wellbeing programme within the Council. The role also involves providing health and safety training in a variety of formats to employees across the Council. You must have a Health & Safety Qualification at SCQF level 8 or above. Chartered membership of IOSH is desirable. You will be an experienced health and safety professional with extended work experience in a full time health and safety role and hold a flexible and dynamic approach to problem solving. This level of qualification coupled with effective communication skills, self-confidence and professional ability would make you our ideal candidate. You will be required to travel throughout the North Lanarkshire area. Work pattern (Hybrid working): 35 hours per week - Monday to Thursday - 08:45 to 16:45 - Friday 08:45 to 16:15.
