National Grid is hiring a Safeguarding Coordinator for a 1 year FTC for our Global Technical Training Centre of Excellence. This is a hybrid role based in Eakring. The Safeguarding Coordinator will ensure the safety of learners and support the coordination of STEM-related activities for development programmes in National Grid.
Key Accountabilities
1. Provide support to learners, including managing educational passports and addressing individual needs.
2. Conduct stress risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks to learners' well-being.
3. Manage the registration and ongoing updates of safeguarding cases in the MyConcern system.
4. Act as the first point of contact for learners experiencing personal issues, providing guidance and support.
5. Own and manage PII forms, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
6. Facilitate referrals to occupational health services for learners requiring additional support.
7. Assist the safeguarding lead in organizing and facilitating support network meetings for learners.
8. Create and distribute a safeguarding newsletter to provide updates and resources to staff and learners.
9. Deliver workshops on safeguarding and DEI to enhance awareness and understanding among learners and staff.
10. Support the planning and delivery of Big Bang events, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for participants.
11. Assist in planning and coordinating the residential work experience programme.
12. Manage registrations on the BKSB platform and assign assessments to new starters as needed.
13. Coordinate input from various team members to compile and distribute an apprentice newsletter.
About You
1. Experience in safeguarding roles, preferably within an educational or apprenticeship setting.
2. Knowledge of safeguarding policies, procedures, and legislation.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
5. Organizational skills and attention to detail.

This is a 1 year fixed term contract offering a competitive salary between £34,871 – 41,023 – dependent on capability.
