Role purpose and overview
The Videographer will be responsible for producing engaging, impactful short-form digital video for Telegraph Recommended.
They will research, produce and edit video content for Recommended articles and social media channels. They should be film proficient from concept development to shoot and post-finishing, ideally with a background as a self shoot-editor.
Key responsibilities
* To script, edit and produce short-form video content to provide Recommended platforms with best-in-class visual storytelling in the product review space.
* To work with the wider Recommended team to build vertical-specific video strategy.
* Basic operation of our own in-house studio facilities - camera operation and basic lighting/vision and audio mixing.
* Produce a number of versions of each video, tailoring to the strengths of different digital platforms.
Key skills
* A talented videographer with an eye for what makes digital video content stand out in a crowded marketplace.
* Video editing skills for digital output (Adobe Premiere and After Effects preferred).
* Deep understanding of the competitive landscape for social video, as well as emerging platforms.
* Ability to work quickly to meet deadlines, but also to think creatively about original new ways to tell stories through video.
* Creative flair and the ability to turn an initial concept into a brilliant piece of video output.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects.
* A positive, collaborative attitude to problem solving and creative development.
* Strong camera operation skills, knowledge of lighting techniques and sound recording.
* Experience creating digital content for social platforms.
