Job description
JOB PURPOSE
Whole Vehicle Test Senior Engineer role with experience of new product development within an EV automotive environment to meet worldwide market requirements.
The candidate should have excellent Technical capabilities, which can be applied in a dynamic and challenging engineering environment.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Collate and build a component, system and whole vehicle level set of requirements and targets.
Manage and update test procedures and create new ones when required.
Build a robust DVP for component, system and whole vehicle level.
Plan and lead the instrumentation of the components, systems and whole vehicle to ensure targets are met.
Liaise with testing facilities to understand capabilities and support the business with decision making.
Build request for quotes for each test and support the business with decision making for best compromise of capabilities and cost.
Manage / coordinate the spares and consumables requirements to ensure testing completion is aligned to plan.
Support testing facilities ensuring no delays to the plan - travel may be required.
Plan and coordinate with cross functional team the shipment of the equipment / vehicles to be tested.
Plan and manage the tear-down activities when needed, liaising with stakeholders for sign off.
Keep track of all tests and testing documentation ensuring no information is missed.
Create and check sign-off reports, building clear and structured summaries to support senior decision making.
Support programme team with testing issues management being the pivot between testing facilities and engineering for root cause investigation and resolution.
Participate in benchmarking of company and competitor vehicles to support competitiveness of attributes.
Work with the prototype team to ensure that components, systems and/or vehicles are prepared for testing (including necessary instrumentation).
High level of technical competence should be displayed in this role, including the ability to take engineering data and present a high-level summary.
ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Requirements:
Degree level education in an engineering field.

Experience with whole electric vehicle testing in automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
Experience with instrumentation, data logging / collection and debugging
Experience with rigs / buck design to support system and component level testing
Experience with test procedure development and reporting
Experience with root cause analysis and issues resolution techniques
Experience with testing facilities management
Ability / Availability to travel to resting facilities and supports testing, root cause investigation and propose solutions
Ability to generate and present technical material in a concise manner to suit the audience
Excellent attention to detail
Possess a can-do & do it right first-time mindset
Possess a high level of resilience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a start-up environment
Good communication skills to interact with all engineering functions
