As part of a small team, the post holder will be expected to contribute to the delivery of the Division's People Plan and support improvements in Divisional Health and Wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
As the People Advisor for the assigned division - and as part of the People Directorate - the main duties of the post holder will be:
1. Provide a comprehensive range of employment support to operational managers and people within their division.
2. Deputise for other divisional leads during periods of annual leave, sickness etc.
3. Undertake corporate projects, as and when required.

This is a hybrid role reporting to the People Partner; the successful applicant will be expected to travel around the sites within the East Midlands regions when required and will be operating in a fast-paced environment.
Job responsibilities
The post will be at the forefront of providing a comprehensive and professional human resources service to the operational managers and employees of the Trust; therefore an ability to build good working relationships is pivotal. Through excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills, you will support and advise management on a variety of HR issues at an operational level, ensuring that decision making is consistent with current employment legislation and good employment practice. You will be responsible for the development of key policies and procedures and project work that will ensure the effective use of human resources to achieve the Trust's service objectives in line with EMAS Values. The post holder will be the nominated Divisional lead HR advisor for the assigned divisions and will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive range of employment services within those divisions, as well as deputising for other divisional leads during periods of annual leave, sickness etc. In addition, the post holder will be assigned corporate projects as and when required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* CIPD qualified Level 5 (or studying for qualification) or equivalent experience
Experience/Knowledge
* Operational HR experience
* Up-to-date employment law knowledge
* Experience of supporting managers on complex ER cases
* Experience of working with trade union officers/representatives
* Experience of policy development
* Understanding/awareness of NHS strategies and initiatives
Skills
* Full driving license and a vehicle with business insurance
* Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
* Ability to take the lead on particular people projects
* Ability to achieve results within defined timescales
