HEICO is currently recruiting for a full time southern UK based New Product Development Engineer.
Job Purpose
Identify new product/part development opportunities and manage the development and approval cycle to meet agreed targets
Essential duties and responsibilities
• Manage the new product development line for an existing blue chip customer account.
• Manage new part development selections and identify new development opportunities to increase sales.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Select the correct products or assist the customer in making product selections, based on customers’ needs and product specifications.
• Manage new part approvals and address any technical questions
• Perform analysis and other tasks required by the Sales & Marketing department.
• Track and report development and sales metrics.
• Regularly visit Customer facilities and Resolve customer issues.
• Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills
• Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organizational development.
Reporting to: Sales Director for the Account (This role has no supervisory responsibilities)

This position requires an ability to communicate effectively including written and numerical data. Business Skills: Must be a confident face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience of dealing with customers and large contracts or even a business. Two years of work experience within aviation or allied engineering industries would be particularly helpful. Experience of supply chain or materials management also useful.
Personal Situation: The position entails a significant travel commitment within UK, Europe and North America on occasions. Able to commute reliably to office base. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Must have clean driving license.
Management Ability: Although staff management is not a part of the job, responsibility and opportunity could grow with the development of the account and opportunities within the parent company. Some people-management skills/experience will be useful.
Specific Job Skills: Able to communicate and motivate via written media. Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Can learn quickly in a highly technical engineering environment.
Computer skills: Must be adept in use of MS Office - particularly Excel and Word. Able to analyse and manage database information and perform accurate data entry when required. Extensive use of Internet and email will be required.
Literacy and Numeracy: Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages, discounts, rebates and interest. Must be a very competent writer of business reports, quotations and proposals.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in an area such as Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, Aerospace or Supply Chain related studies or equivalent combination of education and experience
