AXA UK are looking to appoint an experienced Programme Manager – Performance Management. Part of the UK&I People Operations Team, you’ll be responsible for providing programme management across the five strategic workstreams of the Performance Management Programme. In this role you’ll manage programme governance and be responsible for defining and leading the delivery of programme outcomes and realising the expected benefits and return on expectation. You’ll align the resources, activities and initiatives across Learning, Development Talent Management, Reward, Employee Relations, People Systems, Change and Internal Communications and leverage the UK Learning and Development Centre of Excellence and People Project Teams and People Partnering models to implement and embed the programme of activity. This is an 8-12 month FTC. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at either our Bristol, Bolton or Tunbridge Wells office, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you’ll be doing: Provide programme management expertise and governance to deliver the performance management programme of activity. Develop and implement an effective governance framework including programme and project strategies, policies and controls, plans and reporting, KPIs and tolerances. Establish the programme team, securing appropriate resources and managing delivery of the work. Identify programme stakeholders and ensure effective engagement at all levels, personally leading on key stakeholder engagement. Managing internal programme communication. Manage the delivery of the five strategic workstreams that will enable effective performance management (The Performance Cycle, Reward, Underperformance, System/MyPerformance and Internal Comms. Prepare and gain approval for the MyPerformance business case, clearly articulating the value expected and how the programme will fully realise it. Design and plan the programme delivery, identifying and managing dependencies, risks and issues taking corrective action where needed. Monitor, report and control programme delivery and benefits realisation at regular intervals, making use of KPIs and early warning indicators to manage key performance measures, identifying any areas requiring intervention and advising on any deviation to the PLT and Steering Committee. Contribute as a strategic thought leader within the People Operations Leadership Team. What you’ll bring: Experience in managing and motivating a team of L&D partners and experts in a complex corporate environment. Programme management experience across all aspects of change management. Good understanding of HR and Learning and Development operating models. Strong relationship, stakeholder management, influencing and social engagement skills with the ability to build trusting and respectful partnerships at a senior level. Action oriented with a delivery focused mindset and excellent project management skills with proven experience in planning, managing, and implementing multiple concurrent programmes of work. Passion for delivering high quality work and continuous improvement. Excellent commercial focus with an ability to drawn down on external trends, emerging technologies, and benchmarking to Innovate the project and programme management effectiveness Experience of operating in a global, matrixed organisation would be advantageous. Hold or working towards a recognised project and/or programme management qualification.
