Ocean Freight Operations Clerk
Hays are recruiting an Ocean Freight Operations Clerk for our client based in Maidstone. This is a full-time position for the successful candidate.
Salary: £28-£29k
Bonus: 6% team-based bonus
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
Duties include:
1. Arranging all aspects of ocean import shipment from collection, shipping, pre-alert, delivery and invoicing.
2. Liaising with customers to establish requirements, ensuring they are met and taking corrective action in case of deviations.
3. Liaising with agents and suppliers to meet customer requirements for Ocean Import shipments.
4. Ensuring documents are completed and updated in a timely and efficient manner and according to regulations and internal procedures.
5. Preparing, controlling and distributing all required import documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.) complying with regulations and internal procedures.
6. Following up shipment status in the Import area; identifying incidents and ensuring resolution of incidents.
7. Invoicing all shipments in a timely and accurate fashion.

* 2 years of Ocean import experience
