Job Description
A leading logistics company within the oil & gas industry is looking for a Vice President of Operations to oversee and optimize key operational functions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in operations management with a deep understanding of best practices, metrics, and regulatory requirements, along with excellent leadership and communication skills. Working cross-functionally, the new team member will drive operational success by leading teams and enhancing processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
* Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the business.
* Identify and leverage industry trends and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
* Oversee daily operations, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and distribution, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
* Manage and optimize operational workflows to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
* Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development for team members.
* Manage departmental budgets and resources, ensuring alignment with financial targets and operational goals.
* Work closely with other departments, including sales, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operational activities.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partners.
* Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
* Identify and implement new technologies and tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
* Stay abreast of industry advancements and integrate innovative solutions into operational practices.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the logistics or consumer goods industry. Experience within a major supply chain organization.
* Proven track record of developing and executing successful operational strategies and driving process improvements.
* Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain best practices, operational metrics, and regulatory requirements.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
* Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze performance data, and implement effective solutions.
* Experience with operations management software and systems, including ERP and WMS platforms. Strongly prefer experience with Oracle systems.
* Comfortability to travel as much as needed (30-40% anticipated after first year).
