Binnies UK, Part of the RSK Group have an exciting opportunity to join our ESH&S team as a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor at a time when we are developing our teams in Wales for Welsh Water and southern England.
The successful candidate will provide day to day support and advice to our project teams and local management, contribute to system development and will also have the chance to participate in our exciting new cultural development program.
About the Role
1. Provide advice and support on ESH&S management systems requirements.
2. Carry out inspections and audits (incl joint visits with client and supply chain) and completing appropriate reports.
3. Monitor compliance with project objectives and performance indicators.
4. Proactively liaise with the project team, including joint ventures.
5. Collate data and provide monthly reports and compiling the client specific HSE inspections and monthly reports.
6. Assess the competency of suppliers and subcontractors.
7. Review and advise on method statements and risk assessments and safe systems of work.
8. Support management teams and attend and client meetings, producing and presenting ESH&S reports.
9. Prepare and deliver presentations, tool box talks etc using power point.
10. Attend ESH&S meetings and contribute to new initiatives.
11. Host external auditors as needed.
12. Contributing to the development of HSE processes/guidance.
Essential Requirements
The role is suitable for candidates with experience in construction health, safety and environmental management and water sector.
You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
1. NEBOSH Construction/General Certificate
2. Environmental qualification(s) or good environmental knowledge/experience
3. Good understanding of the management of HSE and the implementation of control measures
4. Knowledge of current HSE legislation and industry best practice.
5. Good communicator with experience in preparing and delivering presentations to management and client personnel
6. Able to demonstrate very good report writing skills.
7. Cooperative and able to deal with employees and clients alike in a professional manner.
8. Driving license and willing to travel and stay away overnight as necessary.
9. Able to climb ladders, work at height and enter confined spaces.
10. Good IT skills.
