As, IT Infrastructure & Security Manager you will:
* Team Leadership & Performance Management – Lead, motivate, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring skill growth, high performance, and effective delivery of services aligned to PDSA’s IT strategy.
* Infrastructure Management – Oversee all IT infrastructure including cloud and on-premise systems, networking, servers, and telephony to deliver secure, high-availability services across the organisation.
* Cybersecurity & Risk Mitigation – Define, implement, and maintain a robust security architecture, including regular penetration testing, ensuring compliance with information security standards and regulatory frameworks.
* Project & Strategic Delivery – Influence and support project teams, contribute to the IT roadmap, and lead infrastructure and security solutions to meet scalability, performance, and compliance goals.
* Vendor & Budget Management – Manage strategic relationships with third-party infrastructure and security suppliers while overseeing a £300k budget to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
* Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery – Ensure data integrity through well-documented backup and recovery processes, supporting resilience and business continuity planning across the organisation.
We’re seeking someone with:
* Comprehensive Technical Expertise – Deep knowledge in server platforms, cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), networking (e.g., Meraki SD-WAN), and Microsoft technologies (e.g., Windows Server, M365, Entra, Exchange Online).
* Cybersecurity Knowledge – Strong understanding of information security principles, risk management, compliance standards, and frameworks (e.g., PCI, cybersecurity certifications).
* Infrastructure Delivery & Support – Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure projects and providing 2nd/3rd line support in both infrastructure and security contexts.
* People & Performance Leadership – Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing technical teams, manage performance reviews, and foster skill development.
* Vendor & Stakeholder Management – Experience managing external suppliers and engaging cross-functionally to deliver IT services that meet business and operational needs.
* Strategic & Operational Planning – Skilled in translating organisational goals into infrastructure strategies, balancing proactive planning with day-to-day support and incident response.
