A fantastic client of ours is seeking a Facilities Engineer in Newmarket. You will work closely with the Maintenance & Installation team to ensure the efficient repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems across the properties, contributing to the smooth operation and safety of the estate. We are looking for a motivated individual with strong troubleshooting skills, solid knowledge of electrical systems (with 17th or 18th Edition qualifications), and experience in mechanical engineering. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement are essential. Key Responsibilities: • Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and generators. • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity. • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime. • Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and installations with contractors and external service providers. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs. • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering. • Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment. • Assist in planning and executing projects such as equipment upgrades and system enhancements. • Provide technical support and guidance to other staff members as needed. • Undertake any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position. Knowledge and Skills: • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (e.g., ONC or BTEC Level 3). • ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) - advantageous. • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) - advantageous. • HVAC Qualifications and strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. • Proven experience in a mechanical/electrical role, ideally in facilities management or an estate environment. • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanical/electrical issues. • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
