Permanent – Term Time only About The Role Thisis an exciting opportunity to join our established, dedicated teamof clinicians supporting our children and young people acrossBaston House School based in Kent. You will beworking closely with our education teams who support our youngpeople, as well as their families. You will be responsible forproviding evidence-based assessments and interventions under thesupervision of qualified clinicians and the leadership of the LeadClinician to better understand and support our young people's needsand to support them to engage in meaningful activities andinteractions. You will be instrumental in creating communicationprofiles, contributing to placement plans and delivering a range ofinterventions. This role also includes observations in schoolsettings, co-facilitating staff training, attending multi-agencymeetings and on-going service development. There are also regularopportunities for continual professional development, through ourinternal specialist forums and funding for external trainingopportunities. Who we are lookingfor. We are looking for a TherapiesAssistant who has experience of working with young people withspecial educational needs. We are looking for someone who isindependently motivated whilst working under the supervision of aqualified clinician. Someone who enjoys working creatively todevelop bespoke interventions to meet the specific needs of ourmost complex pupils and has a dynamic approach to problem solvingwill be perfect for this role. Undergraduatedegree, preferable
Experience working as a therapy assistant or ina similar role would be advantageous
Experience of working within an educationalsetting would be advantageous
Skilled in working as part of ateam
Knowledge andunderstanding of working with children and young people withSEN
Ability to carry outboth 1:1 and group sessions under supervision
Ability to communicate effectively, both writtenand verbal, complex, technical and clinically sensitive informationto the specific client group, their carers and families and a widerange of professionals outside the service
Excellent organisational skills and experiencecompleting administration tasks for a team would beadvantageous
