Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Engineer to join our Wagman Heavy Civil team to assist with our Pennsylvania projects. There will be a focus on bridge and heavy highway work, concrete, and transportation. Experience in heavy civil construction and an understanding of structural engineering are helpful. This candidate will aid in project management and completion.

Core competencies include design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services.
This is a safety-sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
* Heavy Highway experience, including scheduling and coordinating subcontractors.
* Familiar with grading, drainage, paving, bridge construction, concrete, retaining walls, and all other highway construction scopes.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
Essential Functions:
* Support engineering team conducting Civil & Structural engineering evaluations that include bridge applications, heavy highway work, and foundation design.
* Engineering and drawing preparation.
* Willing to assist project manager with related project requirements (QA/QC, maintaining productivity records, evaluating and/or tracking project cost and performance of the engineering system).
* Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and superintendents to ensure that the project is built per plan.
* Order materials/tools required for the job and track quantities.
* Review and approve shop drawings, draft RFIs, and assist with submittals.
* Provide technical information to company supervisors and contractors to ensure work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
* Review, analyze, and resolve field construction problems, discrepancies, or interferences with contractors.
* Provide interpretation of plans, detail sheets, and specifications for contractors or craft supervision.
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
* Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
* Must be able to climb ladders.
* Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
* Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
* Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid weather.
* Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.
