Role Summary
As a Senior Static Mechanical Engineer at Mitsubishi Chemical, you will be a subject matter expert, acting as the responsible party for your field of work. Ensuring several aspects of plan is met for the overall objectives of the project. Working with static equipment such as rectors, distillation/separation columns and heat exchangers etc the opportunity is an excellent chance to join a team where everybody is working towards a common goal.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as Subject Matter Expert for Global Strategic Project; accountable for the technical integrity of the static mechanical equipment and packages. Thus makings sure equipment are correctly installed in line with manufacturers’ and design specifications.
2. Approve the Technical Bid Evaluations and recommendations on behalf of the project.
3. Provide technical guidance and support to engineering contractors.
4. Assist in the identification, assessment, and selection of vendors for static mechanical equipment, both packaged and not packaged.
5. Ensure that technically robust and cost-effective equipment/packages are specified and procured. Liaising with the correct process licensors and project team members.
6. Provide support to the plant commissioning team at the site.
7. Fully define quality requirements, appropriate inspections, test plans and performance requirements for the equipment specification and that of the acceptance criteria.
What We Are Looking For
8. Strong people Management combined with the ability to influence.
9. An ability to be internationally mobile regarding working location.
10. Good working knowledge of the global supply base covering engineering contractors, equipment vendors, packaged equipment vendors and module fabricators.
11. Show a highly motivated mindset partnered with the ability to adapt to different challenges.
Qualifications/Experience
12. Significant static mechanical engineering experience in the chemicals or petrochemicals industry and complex industrial projects.
13. Degree Qualified (or equivalent) UK Chartered mechanical engineer.
14. Experience working across a wide range of complex engineering issues involving design contractors, process licensors, package and equipment vendors and site representatives.
