An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual, qualified with current membership of a recognised professional accountancy body, to undertake the role of Senior Finance Manager within NHS Grampian. NHS Grampian covers the North East of Scotland, one of only four teaching Health Boards in Scotland. With strong links to Universities and Local Authorities, we provide tertiary services to approximately 590,000 people within Grampian and neighbouring NHS Boards, employing over 17,000 staff. We are an Anchor Organisation with a central role in the prosperity of the region.
Acute services are provided principally from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin. Services in primary and community care are organised into three Health and Social Care Partnerships in Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray. We work collaboratively with the other North of Scotland Boards to ensure services that require to be delivered on a regional basis are done safely and effectively.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, the post holder will have lead responsibility for ensuring a robust management accounts service is provided to NHS Grampian. As a member of the Senior Finance Team, the post holder will assist in the delivery of all financial targets and take lead responsibility for specific aspects of the strategic and operational financial management agenda across NHS Grampian.
Applicants should demonstrate experience in a senior finance role, extensive knowledge of the local finance agenda and the strategic objectives of NHS Grampian, and knowledge and experience in the completion of financial elements of business cases and contracts. Applicants must be able to work autonomously and use creative problem-solving skills to deal with a wide range of financial issues.
