Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are looking for a Rents and Service Charge Accountant to join our team in Ipswich, Suffolk. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £36,124 - £42,708 per annum (pro rata for part time). About the role We are looking for someone who has in depth knowledge of the rent standard and service charge legislation to lead on the transformation of the service charge process at Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils. As our Rents and Service Charge Accountant, you will: play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with relevant rent regulation and service charge legislation implement new service charges to ensure cost recovery is maximised play a key role in the year end process for applying rent increases correctly and ensuring communication with tenants is in line with statutory requirements review service charges for new developments, providing best estimates for charges About you We are looking for an experienced professional who can demonstrate enthusiasm for ensuring a “right for time” approach and be able to communicate effectively with users across the councils to deal with queries. You will have relevant experience of working in a rents and service charge setting and have an in depth knowledge of the rent standard and service charge legislation to ensure the councils are compliant with laws and regulations. You will have delivered service charges to strict deadlines and had experience of rent setting. You will be an effective communicator with strong analytical skills, able to provide well informed advice at a senior level.
