SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Prescot Salary: £83.33 per day Start date: ASAP Contract: Full-time – Long-term role – Term-time only GSL Education is supporting an SEND school in Plymouth that is seeking SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential to go permanent The school offers a personalised wrap-around education package to students with complex needs or EHCP pupils at risk of requiring residential placements. These pupils have struggled to thrive in special schools or are returning from out-of-county placements. Every child receives a high level of support, often involving one-to-one assistance and bespoke timetables based on thematic learning experiences. A wide range of personalised learning opportunities in and out of the classroom is designed to engage students, build resilience, and lay the foundation for rapid academic progress. THE SCHOOL HAS MULTIPLE SETTINGS, AND WE ARE SEEKING THOSE HAPPY TO WORK ACROSS KS1-4. THESE ROLES REQUIRE A UK DRIVING LICENCE AND OWN CAR. These roles are challenging, as the children present very complex and often difficult behaviours. You will need to be resilient and committed to this role as a Special Needs Learning Mentor. Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant: Guide students as a SEN Teaching Assistant, providing tailored guidance and support. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to create comprehensive support plans. Foster a nurturing environment to improve students' social interactions and communication skills. Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement effective interventions to address behaviour challenges and promote positive outcomes. Requirements: Be available to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis. Effective communication abilities to ensure clear and productive interactions.
