An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Major Gifts Fundraiser to join a well-established charity. This is a full-time, permanent role within the fundraising team, responsible for winning new business, building relationships, and managing a high-value portfolio of donors and funders.
Key responsibilities of the role:
* Secure 5 and 6 figure donations to support the charity’s strategic goals
* Develop and implement plans for account management and new business
* Build and maintain relationships with high value supporters, ensuring they feel valued and informed through bespoke reports and updates
* Work with the wider team to develop multi-year cases for support and explore new funding opportunities
* Identify and manage high-value funding opportunities from start to finish
* Support large institutional bids
* Work closely with service delivery teams to ensure deep knowledge of the organisation’s impact and activities to inform donor asks
* Work towards monthly and quarterly targets to contribute to the annual fundraising budget
* Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant information in the CRM system
* Adhere to safeguarding policies and ensure compliance with best practice guidelines
Ideal candidate profile:
* Proven track record of securing funding from trusts, foundations, and institutional funders, with experience managing income targets of £400k+
* Results-driven, proactive, and able to spot and pursue new opportunities
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships internally and externally
* Excellent communication skills, tailoring messaging to different audiences
* Ability to work at pace and manage multiple projects while maintaining quality service
* In-depth knowledge of the high-value fundraising landscape
* Proven ability to secure repeat funding and manage 5-figure donations
* Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
* Experience in tracking progress against fundraising targets and addressing funding gaps
Location: Central London
Salary: £34,000 - £39,000
Working hours: Full-time
