We are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and make a positive impact on the educational journey of our students. Role Overview: As a SEN HLTA, you will play a pivotal role in delivering personalized support to students with diverse needs, including those with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Delays, and other complex conditions. Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you will assist in creating and implementing effective learning strategies, lead group interventions, and provide tailored support for students to achieve their educational goals. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality support to students with various SEN, including facilitating group lessons and individual interventions in the absence of the class teacher. Offer one-on-one and small group support to students, adapting your approach to meet their unique learning needs. Assist in the planning and differentiation of learning activities to ensure accessibility for all students. Monitor student progress, track improvements, and collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child. Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and confident in their learning. Support with behavior management, using strategies that promote a calm and productive classroom environment. Work alongside the SENCO and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions for students. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies. Required Skills and Experience: Experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a specialist school environment. HLTA qualification or equivalent, with an in-depth understanding of effective support strategies for students with complex SEN. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with students, teachers, and parents to promote inclusive education. A patient, caring attitude with the ability to manage students with a wide range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning challenges. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing student needs. A commitment to promoting the safeguarding and welfare of all students. Desirable: Previous experience supporting students with complex learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, and PMLD. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and inclusive teaching practices. Relevant qualifications in SEN or child development, such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant, or similar certifications.
