Graduate IT Assistant - Engineering, Design & Technical Support
* Location: Cheltenham (on-site)
* Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
* Start Date: ASAP/Flexible
Our engineering and manufacturing client is expanding their team and looking to bring on a bright, enthusiastic graduate to support a range of IT and technical functions. This is a hands-on role based on-site in Cheltenham, offering a great opportunity to build your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Role:
This is an ideal position for someone looking to become a well-rounded team member within a technical business. You'll be involved in a bit of everything - from supporting internal IT systems and assisting engineers, to helping with training resources and general admin. It's perfect for a recent Maths or STEM graduate who enjoys solving problems, learning new systems, and supporting technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing basic IT support and troubleshooting across the business
Assisting engineers with technical tasks, documentation, and day-to-day activities
Supporting onboarding, training documentation, and internal systems
Helping to maintain hardware and software used on site
Getting involved in a variety of ongoing projects depending on your strengths and interests
What We're Looking For:
A 2:1 or above in a STEM subject (eg Maths, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science)
Willingness to learn and a genuine interest in technology and engineering
Comfortable using and learning new systems or tools
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Clear communication and a proactive attitude
Happy to work on-site daily as part of a small, collaborative team
Bonus Skills (not essential, but great to have):
Basic understanding of any programming or Scripting language (Python, C/C++, etc.)
Familiarity with version control systems (eg Git)
Exposure to hardware, Embedded systems, or electronics
Any previous work experience in IT or engineering environments
