A leading interdisciplinary consultancy is currently seeking a number of highly accomplished Urban Designers to join their collaborative nationwide team. This is an excellent opportunity for talented individuals looking to work in a friendly and dedicated environment.
As a professional working in the Urban Design team at this firm, you will be responsible for working on a variety of global and interdisciplinary projects within the studio, with the guidance and support of the Directors, Project Managers, and Planning and Design teams. Your role will involve exploring, developing, and testing design ideas while preparing them for presentations to clients and consultants. These positions offer valuable experience in designing, developing, and delivering complex master planning projects. 2023 is the year that this firm push forwards and grows their Urban Design/Masterplanning team significantly. Therefore, we welcome applicants interested in joining at Director level, or more junior candidates at Senior or Urban Designer level.
The team at this firm consists of skilled Urban Designers, Masterplanners, Strategic Planners and Landscape Architects at various levels, working on both standalone projects and in collaboration with other sectors such as Mixed Use, Architecture, Science + Technology, Sports, and Healthcare. This collaborative structure allows the team to leverage their expertise while also fostering innovation and design development.
Key requirements for the role include:
* Significant UK experience in Urban Design
* Previous involvement in large-scale, high-density, and mixed-use Masterplans
* Experience working on projects in specific regions may be advantageous
* Commercially minded
* Positive attitude towards people and places and masterplanned communities
Skills and qualifications (dependent upon the seniority of the role):
* A Master's degree in Urban Design, with an undergraduate degree in Planning, Architecture or similar area
* Proficiency in hand-drawing and sketching to effectively communicate design ideas
* Competency in AutoCAD, Adobe, and Microsoft Office software
* Knowledge of specific software or tools may be desirable
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Staff Management and Bid Winning
