Our cutting-edge facility has been purpose-built to provide learners with an outstanding environment for practical, skills-based learning that meets the needs of the automotive industry. In this dynamic role, youll support the teaching of automotive technician classes by helping to deliver a range of practical activities focused on diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of motor vehicles. Under the guidance of teaching staff, youll assist in demonstrating industry-standard techniques, helping students apply theory to practice. From setting up workshop equipment to guiding students through tasks such as engine diagnostics, electrical fault finding, and component repairs, your expertise will be essential in creating a dynamic learning experience. This role focuses on supporting automotive courses that cater to learners from Levels 2 to 4, including both 1618-year-olds and adult students. Practical automotive classes are delivered in a realistic workshop setting, using industry-standard tools, diagnostic equipment, and modern training vehicles to simulate real-world challenges. Students learn through a combination of practical exercises, live demonstrations, and guided problem-solving, all designed to prepare them for successful careers in the automotive sector. Youll also take responsibility for preparing and maintaining the learning environment, ensuring that all tools and equipment are in excellent condition and that workshops are fully equipped for every session. Youll work closely with lecturers to plan and prepare learning resources tailored to the curriculum, helping students build the technical skills they need to progress. Your organisational skills will be key to keeping our workshops running smoothly. Youll manage resources, maintain stock levels, and ensure tools and equipment are safe, well-maintained, and ready for use. With a strong focus on health and safety, youll oversee equipment testing, proper storage of materials, and ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is always used correctly by students and staff. Youll work closely with lecturers to deliver hands-on learning experiences, guiding students through practical tasks and demonstrations. Your ability to communicate clearly and support learners of all abilities, from 1618-year-olds to adults, will help them build the confidence and skills they need to succeed. No two days will be the same as you contribute to a vibrant and engaging workshop environment. Ideally, youll have a qualification in automotive technologies or engineering, such as an NVQ or BTEC, and experience in a technician or instructor role, particularly in an education or training setting. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including COSHH, will also be a strong advantage.
