MMBC has an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Reading delivering clean and wastewater projects for the UK's largest water company, Thames Water. As an Electrical Engineer for Mott MacDonald Bentley you will be working in a creative and challenging environment, delivering a wide range of projects on our Thames Water Framework. You will be part of multi-disciplinary project teams working on clean and wastewater solutions within the Thames Valley area. You will be responsible for the delivery of the designs for Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation aspects of the projects. Working closely with the whole team to ensure the success of the projects. Your typical duties and responsibilities will include: Investigations into existing site electrical systems Development of designs for new works including as required upgrades to existing equipment Design of instrumentation schedules, control systems architecture drawings, single line diagrams and cable block diagrams as required to define the scope of works. Production of subcontract package specifications. Subcontract tender assessment and subcontract design assurance Development of Control Philosophies based around the process design requirements. Representing the company in client meetings, mentoring junior team members, and providing technical and professional guidance to assist their development. Providing design support to the site team during the construction stage and you will be integral in contributing towards successful project close-outs and post-project reviews. Knowledge MCCs used for Water treatment plants. Electrical Installations Instrumentation Flow/Pressure/level measurement techniques, Profibus networks ICA PLC control systems Remote Telemetry DSEAR/ATEX requirements for installations in Hazardous areas. LV Power and Earthing Systems What you can offer: You will be preferably chartered with the IET or showing demonstrable progress towards chartership with a good technical knowledge of electrical and ICA (EICA) engineering, being able to advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts EICA engineering issues. Ideally Process Industry w experience with a preference for water treatment background. Experience of successfully delivering outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards. Location: Your principal place of work will be Clearwater Court in Reading. The role will require occasional site visits to areas within the Thames Valley region (the Thames Valley area West of the M25). Costs incurred for travel away from your home office are recoverable.
