Position: Assistant Trees and Woodlands Officer
Location: Inverleith Park
Salary: £28,046 - £32,010
Hours: 36 per week
We're looking for Assistant Trees and Woodlands Officers to join our Forestry team within the Parks, Greenspace, and Cemeteries service. You will ensure that Council-owned trees in parks, gardens, street walkways, and woodlands are safely and effectively managed, while maintaining and enhancing the amenity value of Scotland's capital treescape.
Your responsibilities will include operating a range of specialist equipment, and supervision of seasonal or volunteer staff may be required.
You will primarily be based at our office within Inverleith Park, but you will be required to work throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding area to assess tree condition at various locations. Flexibility in working hours is required. You must be motivated and able to deliver work safely and on schedule in a potentially hazardous working environment while managing risk effectively.

This position is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will need to provide this check, and an unconditional offer of employment will be subject to the satisfactory outcome of both pre-employment checks.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
