HR Advisor Cockermouth About James Walker A private owned global manufacturing organization, supplying a vast range of high performance fluid sealing products and associated knowledge-based services to virtually every industry sector. With state-of-the-art skills in materials technology, particularly relating to elastomers, polymers, composites and engineering plastics plus extensive expertise in precision machining of exotic alloys for metallic seals, and tension control fasteners for bolted joints. Your Role We are currently looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor on a permanent contract. This role will be based at the Cockermouth Manufacturing Business Unit in Cumbria. The hours of work are 35 hours per week. The salary is dependant on skills and experience, please detail your salary expectations on your application. Key Responsibilities Providing advice and guidance to managers on all areas of Employment Law to protect the business from litigation. Providing guidance and support in the management of disciplinary and grievance issues. Ensuring company policies are followed correctly and processes are robustly applied. Providing advice and guidance to managers on absence levels/Bradford Factor Scores and trends identified. Assisting in formal absence review meetings. Working closely with managers to provide case management support and guidance, advising when occupational health intervention may be required. Working with the HR team support in the organisation of recruitment activities. This will involve the development of job adverts, advising on best practice assessment tools/techniques, coordinating the assessment process, and completing and issuing the necessary paperwork in the recruitment and offer process. Delivering HR Inductions to new joiners to the business. Assisting the wider HR Team in the delivery of the HR People Strategy agenda, by proactively engaging in project work. Proactively supporting employee engagement initiatives within the business to improve engagement levels and business performance. Coordinating and submitting accurate payroll data. Investigating and responding to payroll queries. About you You will have experience of working in a busy HR Department, preferably within a unionised manufacturing organisation. Have the ability to build great relationships at all levels, enabling you to deliver an excellent service provision. You will hold excellent planning and organisational skills. Have the ability to pay particular attention to detail with a conscientious approach to work and a right first time attitude. Have a good level of IT skill.
