Policyholder Tax Manager 12-month fixed-term contract Location: York or Bristol based Salary: £ 65,000 - £ 75,000 This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Policyholder Tax team within Aviva on a fixed term contract. You'll be accountable for regulatory compliance across BAU, regulatory and strategic change. You will be responsible for managing a dynamic team of Policyholder Tax specialists who you will support in delivering process improvements and change, considering the wider business impacts. You will be responsible for ensuring the Aviva risk and control framework is adhered to, and continuously assess any emerging risks. You will have excellent communications skills, being able to articulate risks, issues and their impacts to senior leaders and stakeholders, both internal and external. A bit about the job: The responsibilities of the Tax Manager will include: Oversight and sign-off of HMRC regulatory returns Lead delivery of complex and commercially significant change projects (regulatory and strategic) as a Policyholder Tax SME Managing an independent and driven team of policyholder tax specialists, including managing people leaders Ensuring Policyholder Tax processes and procedures are appropriately managed within our risk and control framework Oversight and support of balance sheet tax reconciliations Making decisions within risk appetite, engaging with the relevant finance, risk and governance teams Support the business with complex and technical tax queries and complaints Skills and experience we're looking for: Policyholder Tax knowledge and practical experience in respect of Pension and ISA products, and their administration in line with the underlying legislation/regulations Strong collaboration skills as an active and engaged participant at working groups with HMRC and other industry bodies: e.g ABI, and collaboratively amongst industry peers. Ability to work to tight timescales, balancing conflicting demands whilst maintaining professional standards Good understanding of our risk and control framework with the ability to make appropriate risk-based decisions Great at communication, networking, influencing and relationship building, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and straightforward manner Strong track record in delivering work to key deadlines Confident to communicate and liaises with stakeholders, including finance, and operational areas and provide regular updates on Policyholder Tax/change activity Flexible and adept at problem solving, with the ability to deliver solutions considering both tax and wider business requirements.
