About the role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who present challenging behaviours and may have complex emotional and social needs. You will support them within a nurturing environment, using your knowledge and expertise to help them engage with their learning and develop vital social skills. Working across Key Stages 1 and 2, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on children’s lives, providing 1:1 and small group support to those who need it most. You will collaborate closely with class teachers, SEN specialists, and other support staff to develop tailored strategies for each child. This role will require patience, resilience, and a deep understanding of behaviour management techniques to help these students overcome obstacles and thrive within the school environment. Application Requirements: • Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviours. • Knowledge of SEN and behaviour management strategies. • A passion for inclusive education and helping children achieve their full potential. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. • A patient, caring, and resilient personality. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support for students with challenging behaviours, ensuring they remain engaged and focused during lessons. • Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive behaviours and emotional regulation. • Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO to create individual learning plans tailored to each student’s needs. • Encourage social and emotional development, helping students build confidence and self-esteem. • Support students both inside and outside the classroom, including during playtime and school trips.
