Job Purpose
To provide expert advice to the firm's clients on all family matters including matrimonial, divorce, ancillary relief, children matters, and separation agreements. Additionally, to lead the proactive marketing of the Family Law team and build robust client relationships.
Specific Core Functions
Handle all aspects of private Family Law.
Conduct initial consultations face-to-face, over the phone, or via digital platforms such as Zoom/Teams/Skype, advising clients on detailed family matters.
Execute clients’ instructions promptly and accurately.
Perform fixed fee interviews and client meetings in the office.
Draft legal documents including divorce petitions, child arrangement orders, and financial settlement agreements.
Instruct and liaise with Counsel and Mediators as required.
Attend court proceedings when necessary.
Bill clients in advance of work and clearly communicate fee structures and anticipated future costs.
Market the department to foster new business and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities.
Meet or exceed set targets including billing, time recording, and workload.
Operate with a high degree of independence as Head of the Family Law Department.
Utilise the firm’s case management systems and accounts packages effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 1 year PQE.
2 x A Levels or equivalent.
Law degree or equivalent.
Experience in a fast-paced office environment.
Desirable:
Proficiency in case management and accountancy software, preferably DPS.
Knowledge of specialist areas of law.
