An exciting opportunity has arisen for a demonstrably experienced, dynamic & enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our highly regarded musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient physiotherapy team. This post is also suitable for a Band 5 transitioning to Band 6 on completion of training & competency to deliver MSK out-patient services within UHP NHS Trust. The physiotherapy MSK outpatient service for Plymouth & South Hams (Kingsbridge and Tavistock) is hosted by the acute trust but provides the service at various locations across the city. This post will rotate through all these clinical environments and include MSK both at Derriford hospital & peripheral sites (Cumberland, Plympton, Plymstock & Ivybridge), women's health, spinal follow up, rheumatology, hydrotherapy, hands, fracture clinic, lumbar spine & pain management.
The successful candidate will join this well-established service to support, deliver, develop and promote this service for the local Health Community. Main duties of the job
To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of MSK/outpatients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a clinical diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for the management of MSK/outpatient clinical and administrative services, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences. Access to advice and support from senior physiotherapists is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
Supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students and more junior staff; this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.

Person Specification
Knowledge and experience
* Demonstrable broad range of post graduate experience including: MSK (Orthopaedic & Outpatient) / Acute respiratory care and Neurology competencies.
* Demonstrable experience of teaching.
* Proven evidence of contribution to clinical education / supervision of less experienced staff, students or assistants.
* Demonstrable experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Proven evidence of relevant CPD.
* Proven awareness of current NHS and Health issues related to Outpatient Physiotherapy.
* Demonstrable Senior MSK Physiotherapy experience.
* Clinical Educator course.
* Demonstrable experience within acute large medical organisation environment.
Qualifications
* Degree (BSc Hons Physiotherapy) or equivalent.
* HCPC registration.
* Attendance at additional relevant professional courses.
* MSc in relevant to the area.
Aptitude and Abilities
* Demonstrates effective and adaptable communication skills including written and verbal.
* Ability to prioritise workload.
* Demonstrable experience of deputising for senior.
* Proven evidence of Service Improvement.
