Experienced Maintenance Engineer required to work for a family-run manufacturing company based on the outskirts of Plymouth. The successful candidate will be required to carry out reactive maintenance and PPM to machinery and on-site facilities. The ideal candidate will be multi-skilled in discipline and be 18th edition qualified. Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform reactive maintenance and PPM on machinery / on-site facilities to ensure on-time delivery of product to the customer along with the smooth running of the plant.
2. Fault finding to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Repairing defective components / parts in a timely manner to minimise machinery downtime.
3. Commissioning and Decommissioning of machinery as and when required.
4. Create and follow maintenance schedules to perform inspections and service equipment at regular intervals.
5. Ensure equipment operates at maximum efficiency and longevity through proactive maintenance.
6. Work closely with production, operations, and all other departments to ensure machinery is fully maintained and optimised at all times.
7. Train junior engineers, technicians, and operators on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
8. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs, including work orders, parts used, and time spent on repairs.
9. Produce reports for the senior management team to provide technical advice on improvements or machinery upgrades as and when required.
10. Monitor and manage spare part inventory, ensuring that critical parts are immediately available as and when required, order spare parts from suppliers as necessary.
11. Perform risk assessments and ensure maintenance work complies with safety standards and legislation.
12. Adhere to all company Health and Safety regulations.
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Candidate Attributes Required:
1. A proven track record working as a Maintenance Engineer within Manufacturing.
2. 18th edition (BS7671).
3. A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
4. Basic knowledge of hydraulics.
5. Good mechanical fault finding knowledge and experience.
6. A continuous improvement mindset.
7. A professional manner coupled with good business acumen to liaise with suppliers and manage budgets.
8. The ability to liaise cross-functionally between departments.
9. A driven and motivated attitude with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
The successful candidate will be working a static day shift comprising of Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 15:30 and Friday's 07:00 to 14:30.
