If so, we’d love to hear from you About the Team The Financial Services Strategy (FSS) team is a diverse, collaborative, and inclusive team, sitting in the centre of the Financial Services Group. Our work is fast-paced and wide-ranging, and we work very closely with Treasury Ministers and senior leaders to deliver our goals. We responsible for setting strategic direction and ensuring a coordinated approach to the department's overarching financial services strategy, including through key events such as Mansion House and Budget. We are responsible for Treasury's strategy for financial services regulation, including leading the overall relationship and accountability mechanisms for the FS regulators, as well as cross-cutting redress issues. FSS owns the governance structures and programme management processes to monitor and support the implementation of the government's financial services priorities. About the Job We are hiring for two roles within the Financial Services Strategy team: one in the Financial Services Business Engagement and Delivery Unit, and one in the Financial Services Regulatory Strategy Unit. In the role of the Engagement and Delivery Unit role you will: Quickly develop and maintain positive relationships with key partners, being aware of their perspectives and issues to support the delivery of the government’s financial services objectives. Establish networks across the Treasury, other departments, and the private sector. Produce high quality written work including Ministerial and senior civil servant speeches, summaries of business perspectives, advice for Ministers, and briefing for Ministers and senior civil servants. Deliver products and events involving a wide and diverse range of people collaboratively and often to tight deadlines. In the Regulatory Strategy Unit role you will: Build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, within the Financial Services Group, the wider Treasury, and external partners, to understand key priorities and use this to shape the Treasury’s strategic engagement with the regulators – including coordinating briefings and drafting speeches for senior civil servants and ministers. Lead elements of the day-to-day sponsorship relationship with the financial services regulators. This includes supporting the regulators to develop their reports and coordinate laying them in Parliament and supporting ministers with parliamentary questions and correspondence. Develop expertise on the role and operation of the regulators, including relevant legislation, and using this expertise to advise colleagues, Ministers, and senior civil servants.
