The post holder is responsible for providing all clerical/admin and secretarial support to ICU department staff and clinical educator, including a good working knowledge of all Trust electronic systems, The post holder is required to deal with queries from patients, visitors and staff. Maintaining stock control of equipment and consumables specific to ICU is a fundamental part of this role. Main duties of the job Principle duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintain confidentiality, patient's privacy and dignity and act in a courteous manner at all times. Ordering stationery and maintain adequate stock levels. Monitoring, via intercom system visitors and welcoming and directing them to the Unit. Dealing with all aspects of telephone queries and obtain general information from care providers/relatives. Admit/discharge/transfer patients and record in all relevant records eg Electronic Patient Record (EPR)/Cap Management. Obtain patient blood results ensuring they are available for the Consultant to see on the ward round. Provide admin/secretarial support to the ward and staff Order patient information leaflets/booklets and keep stands adequately stocked. Do any photocopying for department.
