Skilled Fitter - Test (Glasgow)
My client are looking for Skilled Fitters to join their ever growing team in Glasgow - They are at the forefront of developing engineering solutions for the needs of industrial processes.
Offering a starting salary of £33,500 for this role. Based on a 1.33 shift premium, annual salary would be £44,555, with maximum earnings being £52,327 based on a 1.42 shift and 10% OT.
The main purpose of the Skilled Fitter is as follows:
• Set up Oil injected and Oil free Screw Compressors on dedicated test beds and assist in test set up of Turbo Compressors/Screw compressor Packages.
• Fit all related pipework to the Screw Compressor in preparation for mechanical testing.
• Laser align Screw Compressors and any other drive train equipment required for testing.
What will you do?
• Set up Oil injected and Oil free Screw Compressors on dedicated test beds and assist in test set up of Turbo Compressors/Screw compressor Packages.
• Ensure all related Safety and Mechanical documentation is complete during test set up and removal.
• Conform to all aspects of HCO Quality Management system including the fulfilment of all relevant procedures, including all WSIs to ensure conformance to international standards.
• Deliver Quality product in a timely manner whilst contributing to efficient and effective manufacturing principles to ensure compliance with cost forecasts.
• Contribute & comply with accurate collation of Shop Floor documentation information. To ensure compliance to internal and external requirements.
• Provide training support for Apprentices and work colleagues to ensure appropriate skill transfer.
• Interact & respond to all aspects of HBE supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery and Quality improvements
• Ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environmental and the minimisation of environmental impact.
• Dispose of all waste in accordance with site waste segregation requirements.
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours
• Recognised Mechanical fitting apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
• Rotating equipment experience i.e. compressors, pump and turbines.
• Experience in a Mechanical testing environment and familiar with related safety procedures and processes.
• Engineering Drawing interpretation ability
• Good communication skills
