You will be joining an established team under the Deputy Head (a Royal Navy Captain) within Deputy Director Warhead Capabilitys area. This team provides oversight, management and sponsorship of all Defence Nuclear Organisation Warheads Programme and Project investment approvals. These activities are vital to the sustainment and renewal of the UKs Strategic Nuclear Deterrent to meet the complex challenges of our mission to supply and maintain safe and capable nuclear warheads to the Royal Navy today and in the future. You will have opportunities to work directly with the Senior Warhead management as well as a diverse range of stakeholders including wider MOD and the Atomic Weapons Establishment. Specific tasks include: Support to Warhead Group project managers to deliver successful investment approvals that are JSP655 and HMT Green Book compliant. Management of WHG Cat A C investments supporting the DNO secretariat for the DINC Delivery of approval management information supporting the governance of the Warhead Portfolio. Provide expert investment approval advice to Warhead Capability Planning Groups. Provide business case assurance (strategic and management case) of investment approvals as required to support SRO. Support to develop and maintain the Warhead Portfolio of Intent that identifies enhancement and saving options. Supporting the MOD approvals community to manage Warhead Group business cases. Line manage 1x C2/ HEO delivering investment approval training, policy and approvals community engagement. As a routine part of the role you will also work closely with the Requirements team and support the maintenance of the Warhead Capability Management Strategy and Plan.
