Operating within the Cybersecurity function and under the management of the Global Head of Cybersecurity Operations, the Global Cybersecurity Operations (GCO) team provides a coordinated suite of “Network Defence” related services and are responsible for the detection and response to information and cybersecurity threats across the global HSBC assets and estate. Critical to the success of GCO are its close partnerships with other Cybersecurity teams including Cyber Engineering, Service Reliability Engineering, Vulnerability Management and the wider HSBC businesses and functions.

In this role, you will:
1. Monitor and detect capability, collaborate with diverse teams to drive and deliver sustainable threat monitoring and detection in line with accepted industry standards, best-practice and company strategies.
2. Understand and interpret developments and changes in future business requirements and implement relevant, security-focused, technical and procedural solutions.
3. Build rapport and mutual understanding to communicate and create opportunities for cross-business and global working.
4. Govern risk responsibly. Promote effective, efficient and proportionate management of risk across regions, business areas and within their area of responsibility.
5. Implement changes in policy and governance effectively, reinforcing risk processes within their area of responsibilities.
6. Manage incident management and incident response effectively, maintaining a risk-aware culture and demonstrating integrity while promoting and managing relevant threat hunting requirements within their team.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
1. Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience working in Incident management.
2. An ability to accurately scope technical work, time to deliver and to appropriately deliver updates.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to communicate technical topics to diverse audiences.
4. Good understanding and knowledge of common industry cyber security frameworks, standards and methodologies, including; OWASP, ISO2700x series, PCI DSS, GLBA, EU data security and privacy acts, FFIEC guidelines, CIS and NIST standards.
5. Ability to speak, read and write in English, in addition to your local language.
6. Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in Python Programming or similar.
7. Good knowledge of common cybersecurity technologies such as IDS/IPS/HIPS, advanced Anti-malware prevention and analysis, Firewalls, Proxies, MSS etc.
8. Good knowledge of incident response tools, techniques and processes for effective threat containment, mitigation and remediation.
