You will be part of a central team supporting all catalogue production within the business. Communication, collaboration, and organisation are key to the position of a Catalogue Designer and as an integral part of the company in delivering the catalogues for the business.
Working in an agile and fast paced environment, your outstanding artworking skills will help in the production and development of creative ideas and ongoing improvement of the catalogue production. Key to this role will be producing artwork and layouts across multiple catalogues and in multiple languages. This role demands up-to-date knowledge of catalogue production, styles, best practice and industry software.
As the Creative Catalogue Artworker, you’ll be working as part of our Creative Studio team. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for creating catalogue pages from templates, through to print-ready artwork. You will be confident in working to deadlines and production targets whilst managing your own time. We’d expect you to have advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, a working knowledge of Photoshop, and be familiar with data-driven page production. You’ll receive support with getting to grips with the PIM software which you’ll be using as part of your role.
Role Responsibilities
* Excellent catalogue artworking skills and a keen eye for detail and quality
* The ability to communicate effectively with your team and stakeholders
* Knowledge of data driven workflows (eg. PIM software)
* Knowledge of online proofing systems
* The ability to manage your own time and workload to meet deadlines
* Collaboration with stakeholders to discuss and fully understand the business objectives and requirements of the job, supporting the completion of a design brief
* Calculate and plan time required to complete the work
* Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
* Working on layouts ready for output across a variety of media outputs
* Working as part of a creative team with various levels of experience
* Preparing work by gathering information and materials
* Assisting other team members to plan pages
* Ability to brief other creatives
* A thorough understanding of the company’s brand and corporate guidelines, being a strong ambassador for the brand by ensuring all work encompasses the guidelines
* Very high attention to detail required with a high degree of accuracy
* Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels and functions within the wider business
* Proactive, high energy, results orientated and enthusiastic
* The ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, speed and accuracy
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
What are we looking for?
* Create page layouts from templates through to print-ready artwork, ensuring deadlines are met and client satisfaction is maintained
* Work to agreed goals, objectives and (where relevant) page production targets
* Ensure internal processes and workflows are adhered to
* To be flexible and open to instruction, whilst working as part of the broader studio team to collectively ensure tight deadlines are met
* Have awareness of the marketing workload, aims and values and adopt these as part of daily work ethic
* Ensuring stakeholder relationships in artwork production are adequately managed
* Supporting the catalogue team and other members of the studio with other projects as and when required
* Liaising with key stakeholders, using both verbal and online communication
* Experience of using a variety of packages such as Creative Cloud, with the main skill in Adobe In-Design, Illustrator and Photoshop
* Creates positive people partnerships, earning the trust and respect of others
* Is not afraid to instil new approaches and break down barriers to reach the best solution(s)
* Customer focussed, with willingness to adapt designs and creations to fully meet customer /stakeholder needs
* Ability to prioritise workload when original targeted timelines change

* Knowledge and understanding surrounding the process for print
* A design or creative focussed qualification is desired
