We are currently looking for a Senior Credit Risk Associate to join our Treasury team. The main purpose of the role is to support the Credit Risk Manager in underwriting and monitoring clients to ensure credit risk is carefully controlled. You will also be responsible for managing bad debts by ensuring the relevant policies and guidelines are followed, to provide good customer outcomes and minimise losses to CBS.
The salary for this role ranges between £26,000 - £30,000 per annum. This is a full-time position based in our office in Bury. The working hours are 35 hours per week, from Monday to Friday with a hybrid working model, blending both office and remote work based on business needs. As we have a comprehensive induction plan, the expectation of office attendance in the first few months will be greater.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting
* Review and analyse credit reference agency and company accounts information to formulate recommendations for credit approval of automotive and corporate clients.
* Regularly review client facility limits and suggest appropriate action where clients approach or exceed facility limits
* Work with Sales and Field Operations teams to obtain and review client information on a regular basis and ensure appropriate action is taken.
* Become the key point of contact for the sales and customer experience teams to respond to queries and requests regarding underwriting.
* Involvement in Anti- Money Laundering (AML) and compliance processes to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
Debt Management
* Handle calls to and from bad debtors, often in difficult situations, offering guidance in line with regulations whilst maximising the rate of debt recovery for CBS.
* Issue relevant letters/ documents to default debtors in line with regulatory guidelines.
* Set up and administer affordable repayment plans for debtors, liaising with Finance to ensure a constantly accurate record of outstanding balances.
* Liaise with solicitor and other external contacts as necessary to assist in debt resolution.
General Duties
* Support the Credit Risk Manager with any risk and compliance tasks, specifically but not exclusively, in relation to FCA guidelines, consumer credit regulations and related activity across all scheme solutions and relevant business matters as appropriate.
* Gain a thorough understanding of all internal and external systems. Proactively looking to provide suggestions for system/process changes and enhancements with involvement in testing changes.
* Keep accurate records for both the management of debts and credit risk underwriting using CRM systems.
* Attend training courses that are identified to assist in personal and role development.
Qualifications
* GCSE English & Mathematics A-C or equivalent (Essential)
* Educated to A Level (Desirable)
* CICM qualification or working towards (Desirable)
