Job summary Part-time hours - Permanent This position offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, highly enthusiastic, and motivated Art Therapist who can place patients' needs at the centre of their clinical work and who is interested in delivering and developing effective, innovative Art Therapy approaches that support patients recovery in relevant specialist areas. The Arts Therapies Service is an outward facing well established and well-resourced service taking referrals for patients where a clear clinical need for non-verbal therapy is identified. The post offers opportunities within Children's, Adults and Older Peoples Services according to Service and Patient need both in Acute and Community settings. The Arts Therapies Service has a high profile within the Trust and nationally and is extremely dynamic including several highly experienced Arts Therapists There are many opportunities to grow and learn including delivering talks and showcasing Art Therapy work and achievements. The post holder will be active in developing the evidence base for their work using patient rated experience measures and will be expected to work as an integral part of the Arts Therapies team as well as establishing and maintaining professional relationships within relevant multi-disciplinary teams. The Arts Therapies team are mostly based in the south locality in a new Resource Centre which has a large purpose-built Art Studio where sessions take place. Main duties of the job To participate in the delivery of Art Therapy under the guidance of a specialist band 7 Arts Therapist and the Lead Arts Therapist by managing a caseload of clients. To maintain professional standards in accordance with the relevant professional body BAAT and the professional regulator (Health and Care Professions Council). To be proficient in the assessment, identification, treatment and management of the emotional and psychological needs of the population requiring prolonged, in-depth concentration. This includes risk assessment, assessment of complex conditions. To frequently communicate and receive highly complex sensitive information with people; who have experienced trauma/abuse /highly complex needs; their relatives/carers and other professionals.
