Accountable to | Physically disabled lady in Liverpool, L3 (wheelchair user, in her late 50’s)
Objectives | Social care - to help the client engage within the local community and maintain her home.
No personal care.
Duties | Helping the client engage within the local community
To enable the client to –
Attend appointments eg hospital, GP, dentist, vet. Visit friends and family.
Visit places of interest – eg gardens and historic sites.
Have a social life - eg creative courses and attend sewing group.
Go shopping.
Helping the client maintain her home Eg vacuum carpets, clean bathroom or change the bed
Assistance away from the home will include Driving the client’s vehicle ( ESSENTAIL ).
Providing practical help, e.g. with balance, standing from sitting, opening doors, assisting putting wheelchair in to car, etc.

These would be discussed and agreed in advance.
Location of Work | Client’s home - Liverpool, L3 (Liverpool Docks, southern end) Car parking available for employee.
Other Locations | Other locations may include assisting the client to attend medical appointments, visit family, friends, places of interest, attend short creatives courses, local towns and cities, etc.
Hours of Work | Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 9.00am-1.00pm.
Days negotiable.
Varying and/or additional hours may be needed; in advance they would be discussed and agreed.
Pay – £11.44 per hour. Part funded by Liverpool City Council.
Key Skills
MUST hold full clean UK driving licence, with no accidents in the last 5 years.
MUST be willing and able to drive the client’s car (VW Transporter, automatic transmission, wheelchair accessible - familiarisation will be provided for conversation and adaptations).
Caring and friendly.
Experience of caring for another person.
Familiarisation of client’s disability would be provided.
Experience of looking after a home, and food preparation.
Willingness to be flexible is important, but especially so, when providing support outside the home.
Must be punctual, reliable, and conscientious.
Please note client has a single house cat.
Education
Other | Clean police record (Disclosure and Barring Service check, DBS would be carried out).
Must be over age 25 (for car insurance purposes with Motability and Direct Line). All information about the client MUST be treated in confidence. Services
