Job summary The Estates Department at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust are looking to recruit a Band 3 Assistant Engineering Craftsman (Mechanical) to undertake maintenance and assist with new installation on a wide variety of mechanical engineering services and equipment within the Trust's properties. The successful applicant will be working on a diverse range of engineering services found in a modern healthcare environment. Career progression to tradesman status may be possible following a period of familiarisation and with additional training & support. The applicant will need to be self-motivated, have good practical & communication skills and will be required to demonstrate previous experience within a maintenance or installation environment. Main duties of the job The core duty of this role is to work with the Mechanical Team to ensure the Trust has a safe compliant water system minimising the risk of waterborne pathogens such as Legionella. Other duties will include working with the Estates team to carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs work on mechanical systems such as ventilation, water systems, pressure systems and various plumbing services.
