About the Role
We're looking for a Solutions Architect to be hands-on to design and deliver creative solutions across multiple capabilities of the Healthcare business.
Solutions Architect - Responsibilities
1. The delivery of high-quality solution designs for the projects you are working on.
2. Provide an open communication link between the Solution Delivery team, IT partners and the wider business to develop quality architecture deliverables and ensure the delivery of fit for purpose.
3. Help develop the roadmaps for the business and technology.
4. Build & maintain a deep understanding of the organisation's IT strategy, technology frameworks within IT and overall Enterprise Architecture roadmap.
5. Ensure design governance is met within healthcare and are produced on target.
6. Partner with other Architects to gain their expertise, input and estimates where required.
7. Support the production and validation of estimates for Roadmaps and Projects, ensuring that all design components have been included and the costs represent best value for money. This includes validation of designs/estimates provided by third parties.
8. Provide advice on important design decisions arising from the requirements/epics/user stories that inspire high cost/complexity versus business value and propose adjustments and/or alternative solutions to deliver maximum value.
9. Support the Lead Architect through the creation and maintenance of Architecture Standards, Patterns, and Building Blocks to lead solution re-use, delivery pace, quality assurance and cost efficiency.
10. Define the Outline Solution Architecture, ensuring all main design decisions are identified and prioritised.
11. Be accountable for the technical delivery of your projects by taking ownership for the end-to-end design, ensuring that detailed design and development follow the architectural deliverables.
12. Review detailed designs and the solution at main points during the project to ensure that the integrity of the end-to-end integrated design has been maintained.
13. Oversee and perform peer reviews of the Outline Designs, High Level Designs and Detailed Designs produced by other resources, partners and third parties.
What You'll Need to Have
These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role.
1. Experience in solution design preferably including Azure technology stack, Java EE or Microsoft .NET.
2. Experience of Solution architecture.
3. Experience using ArchiMate 3 for both business and architecture artifacts.
4. Experience of using case tools like Alfabet, Aris or Sparx Enterprise Architect to help design architectural deliverables.
5. Expertise in creating Architecture deliverables for both waterfall and Agile projects.
6. A broad and balanced understanding of IT capabilities, methods, and technologies.
7. In-depth experience of design and development of IT Solutions Cloud Hosting (Microsoft Azure), Web Services and Micro-services with an understanding of Security such as PCI & GDPR and customer-facing technologies.
8. Ideally experience with integration technologies such as Talend, Software AG, WMQ, Azure stack.
9. Ideally experience designing and recommending Azure infrastructure capabilities to meet architectural needs.
