Duties of the Occupational Therapist:
* The candidate will be part of a team delivering Occupational Therapy within the Neurological Outpatient service.
* The patient group is moderate to complex.
* The role will involve triaging of new referrals and seeing patients for face-to-face or virtual appointments.
* The role will be to provide client-centered occupational therapy for clients referred to the Neurology Out-Patients Service.
* The service accepts referrals for clients with a wide range of neurological conditions who experience functional difficulties affecting their ability to participate in daily living activities.
* This will include highly specialist assessment and treatment and possible referrals to other specialty services.
* This highly specialised service is predominantly provided to patients in the hospital settings but can also take place in the community, as appropriate.
* The service adopts a holistic approach offering assessment and treatment to reduce disability and the impact of the disability arising from physical illness and injury.
* The service also provides advice and education, precautionary measures and highly specialist treatments e.g. splinting.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
* Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
* Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist
* Recent NHS experience
* Registered with the HCPC
