Join Our Team as a Senior QSHE Manager!
Are you passionate about creating a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment? As our Senior QSHE Manager, you’ll provide strategic and technical leadership in quality, health, safety, and environmental support. You will play a key role in partnering with both the Account Director and our client to ensure that all operations exceed the highest standards of safety and compliance.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of compliance, managing comprehensive audits, supplier assessments, and employee safety checks. You’ll ensure our business management system runs smoothly and deliver accurate, insightful reports to support continuous improvement.
As a core member of the leadership team, you’ll collaborate on impactful initiatives, helping the site meet corporate goals and uphold the highest standards for safety, health, and environmental performance.
Policy, Objectives and Strategy
* Liaise with the clients Integrated Management System Team on QSHE Policy formulation.
* Development, communication and implementation of QSHE strategy in accordance with Atlas's and the client's strategy.
* Development, implementation, management & delivery of account specific QSHE business plan and objectives, including the long-term forecasting and planning for both policy and resource requirements.
* Monitor, evaluate and analyse the performance of the QSHE strategies and identify ways to mitigate risk to the business, employees and service partners.
* Report to the site management teams periodically and when required in respect of QSHE performance and QSHE risks to the client.
Compliance
* Enable compliance in quality, safety, health and environmental management across the clients estate and ensure preparedness for future changes in legislation through appropriate change management techniques and programmed training.
* Maintain, audit and actively seek continual improvement opportunities of the integrated management systems - ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and the clients bespoke Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS).
* Ensure that all internal, external, supplier and contractor audits are programmed and managed so as to minimise risk.
Technical Expertise
* Collaborate with Client's Management Teams to implement environmental policies, communicate changes to stakeholders, and ensure environmental considerations in new business opportunities.
* Provide technical advice on relevant QSHE issues and communicate impact notifications when there is a change in legislation or significant business change.
* Able to provide good knowledge on all aspects of safety, health and environmental management and legislation, including
* Fire Safety, Asbestos, Legionella and CDM.
* Support Account Director with the delivery of reports and technical detail.
Systems
* Lead a system orientated culture that promotes the benefit and implementation of lean integrated processes and procedures across the business to ensure a seamless and high-quality business operation.
* Progress and develop effective systems that are aligned with the clients’ objectives and provide suitable and innovative solutions on quality, safety, health and environmental management.
* Ensure adherence to both the Atlas business management system and the client's systems.
Management
* Line manage, advise and support other QSHE Managers and QSHE Advisors/Co-ordinator.
* Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual QSHE reporting.
* Drive effective business communication through strong leadership, advice, updates and team management and contribute into the appropriate forums, committees, client meetings and departmental meetings
* Developing and implementing initiatives aimed at maintaining and reinforcing a strong behavioural-based safety culture while enhancing quality, safety, health, and environmental performance.
* Manage the compilation and on-going QSHE procedures, plans, training and objectives to meet the needs of the client; and review, monitor, analyse, and report on QSHE performance, statistics, objectives and targets for business improvement.
* Coordinate with every department including the HR and Learning and Development team to maintain the QSHE competence matrix and ensure delivery of essential technical QSHE skills and behaviours.
* Responsible for Accident/Incident process and in the event of a serious incident/accident, will arrange for investigation of event and the underlying causes.
* Responsible for arranging and facilitating debrief workshops following a significant event.
* Maintain, manage and continually improve the Business Continuity and Disaster Recover arrangements, in liaison with other key Client departments/stakeholders.
About You
Qualification, Certifications and Training
* Chartered to IOSH (CMIOSH) status or working towards.
* NEBOSH Diploma, or NVQ 5 in Health and Safety, or NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety
* Environmental and/or Quality Management qualification such as IEMA, CQI or similar (Desirable)
* Achieved or working towards Lead Auditor ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 (Desirable)
* Qualification in either Fire Safety, Water Hygiene (L8), and/or Asbestos Management (BOHS P405) (Desirable)
Knowledge, Specific Role Skills and Experience
* Experience of supporting a business contract and/or providing support to a professional function.
* A flexible approach towards the role, and a willingness to support other business activities as appropriate.
* Experience of implementing, monitoring and reviewing management systems.
* Working knowledge of legislation and statutory compliances within the facilities management sector.
* Good working knowledge of Certified Management Systems including ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
* Expert knowledge of MS word and excel.
