Job Title: Financial Controller
Salary: £50,000
Hours per week: 35

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join IOSH and manage our established Financial Accounts team. The IOSH Group is unique, consisting of three completely different entities - the Charity, IOSH Services Limited and OSHCR Limited. You will have responsible for the financial accounting function for them all as well as our benevolent fund. Therefore this truly is an exciting and varied position.
You will be responsible for the preparation of year end statutory accounts and regulatory returns as well as effectively overseeing financial controls including accounts payable and receivable, balance sheets and investments. This role is also accountable for the management administration of IOSH's payroll.
What you'll bring
The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of accounting principles and practices gained working in a senior financial accounting position. You will have the ability to establish positive working relationship with stakeholders including internal and external auditors. Proven experience in preparing year end accounts as well as producing consolidated statutory accounts, VAT and other returns is a must. To succeed in this role, the successful candidate will also have experience of successfully managing a team with the ability to inspire others and set clear direction.
Essential criteria
1. Experience of preparing statutory Accounts in accordance with UKGAAP, IFRS and charity SORP
2. To have prepared year end accounts for a medium to large organisation (charity preferred) including experience of producing consolidated statutory accounts, VAT, Corporation tax and other returns
3. Experience of managing a team; to include management of performance and workload
4. Experience of working with Internal and External Auditors
