CSH is part of the Childrenand Family Health partnership along with First Community and we are looking forqualified nurses or midwives who are interested in training to become HealthVisitors. This is a one year, full time course run with Surrey University. Youwill spend 50% of time in practice and 50% at the University, in order tocomplete both practice and theoretical elements to the course. The course runsfrom September 2024 until September 2025. To complete the course, applicantsmust be able to meet the academic requirements of Surrey University and must beavailable for the whole year. Interviews will be held from May 2024.
Main duties of the job
To take responsibility for theiradult learning and to inform their Practice Teacher and University contactshould there be any exceptional circumstances preventing the completion of anyaspects of the course.
Maintain confidentiality at alltimes, following organisational sickness and absence policy.
Undertake duties allocated bypractice assessor/supervisor, being flexible as needed and writing recordswithin expectations
Work collaboratively with theskill mixed health visiting team & wider multidisciplinary team ensuringequity of service provision, promoting good practice and the sharing ofresources.
Participate in the delivery ofthe Healthy Child Programme 0-5 & well child clinics.
Participate to identify/ supportchildren and families who have unmet health needs, providing support andtargeted interventions and where necessary referring to specialist services.
Take appropriate action in casesof suspected or actual child abuse, working within Surrey safeguardingchildrens code of practice and procedures, attending child protectionconferences/core groups as required with practice teacher or agreed 0-19 healthcare professional Participate in clinical audit and evaluation of service Workin accordance with the needs of the service, undertake other duties as requiredwithin current skill set

Undertake duties as allocated bypractice teacher
Work collaboratively with theskill mixed health visiting team to ensure equity of service provision,promoting good practice and the sharing of resources.
Participate in supporting goodworking relationships with Family Centres, midwifery, GP practices and thewider multi-disciplinary team.
Where appropriate work withChildren and Family Health Surrey (CFHS) Nurse prescribing lead to prescribe inline with local and national policy guidelines.
Make Every Contact Count withchildren, and their families in a variety of community settings home,children centres, nurseries

Qualifications
Essential
1. Applicants must be a Registered Nurse (RN1) or NMC Registered Midwife, with an active NMC PIN at the time of applying for the programme.
2. Applicants must have a BSc Hons 2:2 or above.
