Main duties of the job
To provide a friendly welcome to all callers to the practice (including branch surgery) and act as a main point of contact for patients, visitors, and general enquiries; you will work as part of the Practice Team and contribute to the achievement of its objectives. This role will require you to maintain information and monitoring systems, and to support the demands of an evolving programme.

Job responsibilities
* Provide an efficient, courteous, and responsive reception and telephone service to the public.
* Ensure that up-to-date and comprehensive information is available at all times through liaison with other Team members.
* Carry out a range of administration duties including word processing and data inputting duties as required (EMIS).
* Be responsible for hospitality arrangements and general housekeeping as requested.
* Order, maintain, and keep inventories of stationery and equipment supplies.
* Be actively involved in individual cases, keeping self up-to-date and applying good working knowledge of office systems.
* Participate in new initiatives and future changes in service delivery improvements.
* Support the Team in promoting equal opportunities in the workplace and delivering services which are accessible and appropriate to the diverse needs of service users.
Person Specification
Experience
* Computer literate.
* A minimum of 12 months health sector reception experience.
* Experience of team working.
* Experience of working on own without direct supervision.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Able to work across shift patterns am and pm.
Qualifications
* A minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Mathematics.
* Experience of using EMIS.
* NVQ 2 or Diploma equivalent.
